Community Creates Lasting Tribute to Sheffield’s Legendary King Mojo

One of the most successful heritage projects isn’t measured by attendance alone – it’s measured by the extent to which communities become part of the story.

That was exactly the case as around 20 former King Mojo club-goers gathered at Weston Park Museum to help create a community mural celebrating one of Sheffield’s most influential music venues.

Working alongside original King Mojo artist Paul Norton and Sheffield artist Angie Hardwick, participants contributed not only paint but memories, conversations and personal experiences that have shaped the finished artwork.

The mural represents a collaborative approach to heritage engagement, ensuring those who experienced King Mojo first-hand have played a direct role in preserving its legacy for future generations.

The artwork will be publicly unveiled this autumn at Attercliffe’s Library venue as part of Mojo Rising – Celebrating 60 Years of Music and Community, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

At Neil Anderson Media, we specialise in helping heritage organisations create projects that engage communities, generate meaningful media coverage and leave a lasting legacy.
