A community mural celebrating one of Sheffield’s most legendary nightclubs will be officially unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield on Thursday, 29 October.
The artwork, created by Sheffield artist Angie Hardwick with lead painters Paul Norton and Phil Barnes, celebrates the extraordinary legacy of King Mojo, the Pitsmoor teenage club which hosted some of the biggest names in music during the 1960s.
Former club-goers and music lovers have helped shape the mural through their memories, ideas and participation in community painting sessions.
Neil Anderson Media has been managing the PR for Mojo Rising – Celebrating 60 Years of Music and Community, a two-year heritage project supported by a £114,300 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The finished mural will be unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Andrew Sangar, at the Library venue in Attercliffe at 11am on Thursday 29 October.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
