One of the stars who performed at Sheffield’s celebrated teenage club will return to help honour its legacy at a free community event this week.
Singer Dave Berry will join the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Andrew Sangar, to unveil the King Mojo mural at The Library Cafe / Restaurant in Attercliffe on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at 11am.
Neil Anderson Media has been managing the PR for Mojo Rising – Celebrating 60 Years of Music and Community, the heritage project celebrating the extraordinary story of the legendary 1960s club.
The unveiling marks the culmination of months of creative work led by Sheffield artist Angie Hardwick, with lead painters Paul Norton and Phil Barnes. Scores of former Mojo-goers and music lovers have contributed to the artwork, helping turn their memories of the club into a lasting celebration of Sheffield’s musical heritage.
Dave’s involvement brings a direct connection to the venue’s performing history, joining the people whose nights at King Mojo helped make it such an important part of the city’s cultural life.
For Neil Anderson Media, the project has been an opportunity to help share that story and encourage people to take part. The finished mural reflects the contribution of the community as well as the artists who have brought it together.
Former club-goers, music fans and anyone interested in Sheffield’s history are welcome to attend. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.
The unveiling takes place at The Library Cafe / Restaurant, 10 Leeds Road, Attercliffe, Sheffield, S9 3TY, on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at 11am.
